
Career Opportunity: RITHIM Program Officer (Full-Time, Permanent)

Research Manitoba is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a RITHIM Program Officer. This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Director of RITHIM (Research Improvements Through Harmonization in Manitoba).
The RITHIM Program Officer is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the full review process of health research applications, ensuring compliance with relevant ethical, privacy, and institutional standards. This role supports the integrity and efficiency of health research in Manitoba by managing submissions from intake through to final approval.
Acting as a key liaison for researchers, the Program Officer communicates review outcomes, identifies where additional information may be needed, and advises on protocol changes or amendments. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to service excellence in support of Manitoba’s research ecosystem.
Key Qualifications and Experience:

Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as health sciences, information management, or information technology; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

Minimum of three years of related experience in health research, ethics, or compliance

Familiarity with Manitoba’s research approval environment, including ethics, privacy, and institutional impact review processes

Knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines, including The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS2)

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including experience presenting complex information clearly

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment

High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
