CHIPER Membership

CHIPER is an independent, multidisciplinary committee consisting of members who have expertise in relevant research disciplines, fields, and methodologies; members knowledgeable in ethics; members knowledgeable in the relevant law; and community members who have no affiliation with any Manitoba post-secondary institutions.  The membership of CHIPER is designed to ensure competent independent research ethics review.

CHIPER is constituted and operates in accordance with the current Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans and the applicable laws and regulations of Manitoba.

CHIPER Ethics Committees

CHIPER is comprised of two ethics committees, Health and Biomedical.

CHIPER Biomedical Ethics Committee

The CHIPER Biomedical Ethics Committee reviews all research ethics protocols involving clinical trials and other biomedical research interventions.

CHIPER Health Ethics Committee

The CHIPER Health Ethics Committee reviews research involving the behavioral sciences, surveys, examinations of medical records and protocols of generally lesser risk for participants.
